Liverpool Kendo Dojo is a member of the British Kendo Association which is a member of the European Kendo Federation and the International Kendo Federation. Kendo is the ‘way of the sword’, the Japanese martial art of fencing. It is a full contact martial art using bamboo swords and traditional Japanese padded armour.

Kendoka regularly attend from the Wirral, Knowsley, Lancashire, Sefton, Halton, Cheshire, Lancashire and Liverpool areas. We also have visitors from further afield and high grade Japanese Sensei who pop in from time to time. Our sensei is one of the highest grades in the North West with over 20 years experience.

The club is a non-​profit organisation with all fees used to cover the cost of the venue, enter teams in competitions and pay for club armour that can be loaned to beginners when they are ready.

We have regular beginner’s nights, which are free to attend, or you can come along to watch until our next event comes up. Check website for details.
