For a slap-up tasty Indian Take-away, I find that Pollys is simply the best in the town. Situated at the top of Catherine Street in an unpretentious little store, the aromas emanating from it are enough to make you want to dash inside! The service is excellent, friendly and polite. The prices are very reasonable, and the waiting time is always swift(you can phone ahead to speed things up even more). There is an extensive menu, and the staff are always happy to explain anything you’re unsure about, and make reccomendations. Each order I’ve ever had comes complete with complimentary poppadom, salad and Bombay Potato. The portions are generous and filling, and really hit the spot. They do a range of starters, then main courses of Tandoori, Kurma, Masala, Jalfrezi, Biriany and Balti, plus Chef’s Specials. Plus an extensive Curry list ranging from the very mild Kashmir to the firey hot Phall. There are special vegetable dishes, all the side dishes you could wish for — and a very small selection of English dishes for those not able or daring enough to try the spicy. Around twelve quid gets you a take-out for two of one main course plus rice each. Really good value.
