The Cormorant is a rare little gem buried deep in Cornwall nor far from the Eden Project(an absolute must see if you are down that neck of the woods). Finding the place is a bit of a challenge — the roads are ***narrow***(one car wide. barely!) requiring a quick slap into reverse and nimble handling of the steering wheel should you meet someone coming towards you. The final ascent to the hotel is UBER steep and should be avoided in winter when there is any level of frost or ice about. Seemingly the roadway to the entrance floods at some high tides as well … Its enough to put you off??? … Nope, stick to your guns and push on and find the place — its well worth it. The rooms can be a bit tight, the prices on the room frankly we felt well well over what one should have paid for what we got, however … the place was spotless and the view, oh the view … I could have happily died there… The restaurant should have five stars, the food was absolutely superb — taste, freshness, presentation — all second to none, and prices very fair(making up for the overcharge on the rooms perhaps?!). The staff were extremely helpful and couldn’t be nicer. The wine-list was extensive and very well priced. I’d be happy to go again and would absolutely recommend it — only knocking back the rating due to the final price-tag!
