Cod On The Corner

I visited Falmouth on 9^th August 2011 looking forward to some seaside fish & chips for my supper. I followed their sign from the town square and ordered fish and chips before I saw their specials board advertising mackerel and whiting but felt this was a sign of good quality.
Unfortunately not! The fish batter was crisp but extremely greasy and seemed to me to have been reheated rather than cooked fresh. The fish as a result was over cooked and completely flavourless. The chips were no better and had not been improved by the very miserly amount of salt & vinegar provided.
At least when I threw most of the meal away it was contained in a cardboard container that would biodegrade along with the food.
Not an experience I want to repeat.
