I’ve been living in Enfield for five years now, and Orchid Bar Bistro is pretty much exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I’ve seen the place a couple of times(apparently it only opened two months ago), and every time we passed it, I told my partner we should try it. And every time he ignored me. Something about it put him off. Probably because it’s in Enfield. And I tell him but look! It’s a wine bar. And he just wasn’t convinced. Well finally last night, we tried it. After being at the pub with his co-workers for a few hours, we were heading through Enfield to go to one of the many new Turkish places that have opened up, and we walked by. And I said, «Hey guys, what about this?» And luckily, one person has been and said it was really good, so we changed plans and went in. The menu is fantastic. Several things jumped out at me, but I started with the roasted bone marrow and then had the guinea fowl for a main. The bone marrow was delicious, and the toast it was served with was really tasty as well. And there was half an egg to boot. A great way to start. My guinea fowl was spectacular. Moist and tasty. The sides that came with it were also really good. Okay at this point, we may have gotten through about three bottles of wine(there were six of us, don’t judge). And they have a great wine selection too. Cheap and moderate priced wines and then a huge jump to some much more expensive and nicer looking wines(which we may be trying once we go back sober). By the time we finished, we had about five bottles(okay now you can judge) and everyone was really enjoying the wines. Amazing wines in Enfield? I’m sold right there. We also had some dessert. Cheese mostly with a couple of chocolate fondants thrown in. The cheese plate was amazing. A great selection of three cheeses and a fair amount of it as well. All in all, we had an amazing meal. Please go here if you’re in Enfield because I want it to stay open, and I’m really concerned that given Enfield, it won’t stay open. Because we can’t have nice things in Enfield apparently. But this is the nicest thing to hit the area for five years, so I’m going to exploit it while I can.
