History

Established in 1997.

Gemini Cars are based in the centre of Egham, Surrey and are manned and operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Being only 10 minutes away from Terminal 5, and 15 – 20 minutes from Terminals 1, 3 and 4, we offer an unrivaled service to and from the airport.

We realised early on in our growth that a professional, friendly and reliable service was what customers wanted and have maintained that philosophy throughout.

Today with over 100 vehicles we are able to offer a service which is the envy of other taxi and private hire operators.

With a fully computerised booking and dispatch system we are able to take bookings quickly and efficiently, and as all jobs that are booked onto the system are dispatched via a data head fixed into the relevant vehicle. Each vehicle has «real time» satellite positioning, enabling the control office the ability to find any vehicle at any time and a Chp & PIN terminal able to take all major card types.

If I’m ever ordering a taxi, I use Gemini.
Every time I use this company I am impressed. As a student I’m used to being ripped off or belittled but Gemini drivers are always professional, fair and friendly. The phone calls are quick and simple with the operator always chirpy and helpful no matter what time I ring up (sometimes 4am — I couldn’t be that happy working at 4am!). Often the journeys I take are with many people so require many stops, but unlike other taxi firms the drivers never seem annoyed and know the area so well that it doesn’t present a problem. If I’m travelling alone I still feel safe, which as a young female is rare.
What most impressed me, however, is that when we hired a few of their taxis to take us to the station for a night out, the driver insisted very politely that we all put our seatbelts on before he moved off. I found that unbelievably safe and assuring.

I have found Gemini to be very reliable over many years. They are good with reservations or collecting me from Heathrow with no notice. OK a few too many of the drivers support Arsenal… but they still get me home!

If I have a choice of taxi firm I always use Gemini taxis in the local area and for trips up to London from Staines/​Egham.
I’ve tried lots of others in the past, but found Gemini to be the best.
You do have to pay a little extra compared to some other firms, but I think it’s worth it.
The cars Gemini use are clean and tidy, the drivers are polite (they come to the door to fetch you rather than just sitting in the road and honking the horn). In addition they know where you’re going and confirm this with you when you get in the car — this is something that annoys me with other firms, you tell them when you phone up to book where you’re going but then the driver arrives and has no idea! It’s not great from a security point of view when firms do this, but Gemini doesn’t.
They’ve always been very reliable when I’ve used them and have turned up where and when they’re booked for — again unlike some other firms I’ve used.
So if these things are important to you (as they are to me) then I can recommend Gemini.
