Clumsy isn’t the half of it.
After getting a new (second hand) phone recently I have had a few issues with it. Mainly the screen, it looks like the previous owner had gone through a screen replacement or two and voided any chance of Apple lending a hand.
This leads us to the unthinkable happening yesterday. I dropped my phone. Well, ‘dropped’ is the wrong word. To be more accurate, my phone made a leap for freedom, apparently thinking herself some kind of superhero or bird. All seemed lost and I suddenly became very aware that I do not wear a watch.
So today, on the advice of Cressi, I trudged up to UrbanTek to ask for a hand. The guys there are super.
No repair means no payment so they’ll look at it and find your problem but if they can’t fix it you don’t pay. Apart from that a ribbon (there’s ribbons in things?!) replacement is £25 and a screen replacement is £45.
Being without a phone is pretty darn inconvenient for me as I work odd hours and part time so need to be contactable for scheduling. I explained my situation to the guys and they went above and beyond to help me out and keep me contactable. That’s pretty awesome service.
Within an hour (ish) my phone was brand spanking new and fully functional. I’ve invested in a more protective cover and will hopefully not have to go back, but if I do I’m sure I’ll be in good hands.
