Road Layout Outside Haymarket Station

I have to traverse this hell hole of road design every day on my way to and from work.
Let me be clear. If this was a business that I had to use everyday I’d be on at the owners, in my most SJW vigilante, tone of voice to try and get them to sort it out. In fact I sort of have done this by contacting the council LOTS of get them to improve it. They’re currently assessing the situation to see if they can make it better. But I thought this might be a good opportunity to get them to sort themselves out anyway and perhaps gather ideas from others on what can make this place better!
1) The area is designed to be a transport hub, mixing buses, trains, trams and pedestrians. Yet there are double parking taxis everywhere, people pulling up on double yellows, buses which are encouraged to sit idling with signals going every which way and potholes everywhere.
2) Pedestrians have to wait so long to cross the roads. Make it easier for pedestrians and screw everyone else.
3) You’ve managed to build a junction that forces vulnerable road users into conflict with literally everyone. GOOD JOB.
Anyway. This needs sorted, and the council need to know that they have to stop building this osort of terrible junction. They just have to spend money redoing it. Thank goodness noone has died… Yet.
