Morningside Wild West

This is one of the absolute highlights of Edinburgh and best of all, it won’t cost you a thing, bar some adventuring trying to find the place. It took us a couple of attempts as it is a close hidden up a side street off Morningside Road. Built by an ex-​Disney person and left to age and weather, it is one of those places that likely won’t be around forever. Find it, wander around, leave smiling. That’s all you need to do.

Jokes aside, Morningside Wild West really is a quirky and fun hidden gem. Since first hearing about it, I’ve wanted to visit. Fortunately, I’m working in Morningside for the moment, so today I stopped by for a quick peek before work and it is quite the sight to behold. It’s pretty damn cool to see a mini Wild West in Edinburgh and it’s also a refreshing piece of art in the city of Edinburgh. Whilst you won’t necessarily travel just to see it, you’ll most probably want to tell your friends all about it and impress locals with your new-​found savvy knowledge. And hey, you can get totally awesome pictures taken in front of the saloon doors, pretending you’re a cowboy/​gal. Who doesn’t want to do that?! Madness.
I kind of want to grab someone eager with a camera and get my band to do a song or two in the Morningside Wild West on a sunny day. It would be an awesome place to film and I’d love to see the MWW put to some exciting creative uses.

Yeeha! This here is a right gold-​star find in Edinburgh. I’ve scouted it out a few times with the idea of shooting a film there. it really does look quite authentic.
