Mathiesons Bakers

Mathiesons is an amazing bakery in Mayfield which offers great quality baking, both sweet and savoury, at reasonable prices. I had been to their Larbert branch before and thought it was also excellent. Inside it feels warm, the staff are friendly and efficient and the aromas which circulate get your mouth watering. I was in last weekend and had a pork pie, a steak bridie and fudge doughnut. Considering this was a fair bit of food, it only cost about £3.50 and it was all delicious. The meat in the pie and bridie was clearly of the highest quality as there were none of those chewy, sinewy bits which you can sometimes get. The fudge doughnut was also large, full of cream and had a thick, tasty layer of fudge on it. I’ll certainly be coming here again is serves top quality baking which is great for a tasty lunch.
