English language courses in Edinburgh. The aim of our English courses is to help you use English better. Your speaking will improve and you’ll feel more confident. If you take an exam preparation class, your writing and exam techniques will also improve. If you are studying a full-​time or intensive course, this will happen more quickly, but all of the courses will give you the opportunity to speak more fluently or correctly, to understand what you read and hear more effectively, and regular homework will help you to express yourself more clearly in writing.

History

Established in 2011.

The Caledonian Language School opened in September 2011, a new school with a body of well-​experienced and highly qualified teaching staff, and a Principal with nine years of

management experience in education.

Early in 2012, we became a recognised Cambridge examination preparation centre.

In June 2012, we received approval from the Scottish Qualifications Authority as an assessment centre for SQA certificates in ESOL. This means that students can gain qualifications which are recognised by British employers and universities.

In summer 2013, we gained accreditation from the British Council; the Caledonian Language School is now a member of English UK and in January 2014, an official ILA approved learning provider.
