Welcome to Bai He Alba School of White Crane Kung Fu

At our martial arts club we teach White Crane Kung Fu which is one of the most highly respected martial arts and is a rare opportunity to learn this tradition in Scotland. Incorporating both the internal (soft) and external (hard) elements of Chinese martial arts, we offer something for everyone regardless of previous experience.

White Crane is a sophisticated and evolved system utilising skill and clever body mechanics to promote health and wellbeing whilst teaching a devastating form of self-defence.

Rather than relying on brute force and weight, White Crane promotes relaxed and supple movements that develop self-defence skills against a larger opponent.

Our classes are always open to complete beginners. You do not need to be fit, strong or have any previous experience to come to our classes. The club has a friendly and open attitude and warmly welcomes all new students.

We hold classes at:

Café Camino, 1 Little King Street,

History

Established in 2012.

Bai He Alba was founded by Kami Newton after many years of diligent and consistent training in Southern Chinese White Crane Boxing and Dog Boxing.

It is the sophisticated and well thought out nature of White Crane that has inspired Kami to dedicate his life to continue the daily progression of the art and to pass it on to the next generation. Without the dedication of past teachers spanning hundreds of years Kami would not be in this privileged position and it is for this reason that he is extremely grateful to all those that have carried the art.

It is the club ethos that Kung Fu should remove boundaries as opposed to constructing them. Through personal development and a sharing of knowledge we can help to enrich the world around us and apply Kung Fu in a positive and constructive way in everyday life.

Meet the Business Owner

Kami N.

Business Owner

Kami began his study of Tai Chi Chuan in 1995 and after experiencing the healing properties of the internal arts he developed a deep desire to pursue the benefits further. In 2003 the art of White Crane found Kami and it is from here that he developed a fascination and appreciation for the limitless wonder of this rare and elegant system. Mere glimpses of its potential have inspired Kami to dedicate his life to the study, development and teaching of White Crane to share this 450 year old tradition.

On his journey Kami has trained in Canada, Mongolia and China and has found his home in Scotland where in 2012 he founded his school of White Crane, Bai He Alba. Kami diligently studies the internal arts each day to improve himself and his teaching, but most importantly because White Crane brings him so much enjoyment and it is this that he wishes to share the most.
