Alexander Steps

These cool new steps connect Cowgate with Chambers Street. They’re really convenient and also pretty and modern. They also feel pretty safe as they are closed from 11pm to 7am and as you go up the steps past the Alexander Building sign (which is why I suppose they’re called the Alexander Steps) you can peep into the back of the Ibis bar and Costa, which both have nice outdoor seating areas on your way up the steps. It’s a cool set of modern ‘secret’ steps in the heart of Old Town.
