The Fancott Arms

A nicely presented country pub with large beer garden, yet only a short distance from the M1 (J12). Handily offers free WiFi — beneficial as mobile signal a little borderline on some networks.
Beer well looked after, food well presented and tasty, and excellent friendly service. Only minor quibble would be the menu is not very inventive — but then it does not claim gastro-​pub status.
And if you have small people to entertain, there’s (a) a children’s play area in the rear of the beer garden and (b) the Fancott Miniature Railway, described as the «last pub railway in Britain».

I haven’t been here in ages but it’s a great family friendly pub. They have a little train track which kids can go on. They have a play area which is for children aged 11 and under. It’s just a lovely pub to visit.

I shall give 5 stars for the railway there they have for the children, as it is a very friendly and have teddy bears train rides and easter egg hunts aswell. It only cost £1.00 for a train ride going twice round the track and if you have a child that can’t hold on then you just pay for one person. The main pub itself is very pricey for a pint stella £4.00 and lager shandy £3.60. The crisps and peanuts are 85p each, which is too much for snacks. They do bucket of chips, but not sure on price of them??? We only go for our girls who love the train and the play area. So we get to sit in the garden and the girls get to go on train and play and we get our drink in peace for what half hour. It has changed since we went last year, been done up and look alot better, even in the pub garden, Soon as weather picks up we shall be going there in the summer holidays for the girls.
