Stuart Thornley Cake Design is based in Dukinfield, Cheshire.

We are award-​winning creators of home made cakes, cupcakes, favours and other treats for special occasions such as weddings, civil partnerships, christenings, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events — in fact, for any event you can think of, we can supply the perfect cake!

Everything is home made from scratch, fresh for every single order, using tried and tested family recipes. Our company is listed as part of the Baked From Scratch campaign which highlights bakers who don’t use shortcuts or mass-​produced ready mixes.

We have an extensive range of unique and delicious cake flavours on offer, with new special flavours and designs appearing every month. Any design can be tailored to your specific preferences.

Stuart Thornley Cake Design cakes and sweet treats can also be purchased from various stockists in the region as well as ordered direct from ourselves.

History

Established in 2010.

I have always had a passion for baking, and after making cakes for friends and family, I decided to specialise in cake decorating in 2008. I have completed the ABC levels 1 & 2 in cake decorating and won awards for my designs at the Tameside Food Studies Awards and at Cake International at the NEC. Our designs have been featured 3 times in ‘Wedding Cakes-​A Design Source’ Magazine.

In 2011 Stuart Thornley Cake Design took on a regular stall at the Vintage Village Craft Fair in Stockport and supplied the deli counters at Mortons Country Store, Tattenhall, and The Bread Basket, Dukinfield, with Cupcakes, Cake Pops and Other Treats. The company also grew its business in cakes for all kinds of celebrations, especially weddings and can be seen exhibiting at various local wedding fairs.

I have worked in the catering industry since 2001 and I am now a fully qualified Chef

working as a Catering Manager. I have lead my kitchen team to the

Food Safety Award, 6 years in a row, and I currently hold a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
