Lion Hotel

The pub is in a great location unfortunately I turned up for a drink & no food and was told I had to to queue behind everyone ordering food to order my drinks needless to say I left and went to another pub where I could stand at the bar and order my drinks within 10mins.

The Lion Hotel in Farningham enjoys a prime position right by the river and is extremely popular with families in the Summer, and does get very busy.
The interior of the pub is pleasant and well decorated.
There are numerous picnic tables outside as the dining does get very busy in the hot weather, if you don’t like children you won’t want to come here at peak Summer times as there are always lots of them runnning around and splashing about in the river.
It can also take an age to get served at these times so be warned!
The food is not bad but obviously not gourmet, however I have enjoyed anything I have eaten here. If you are after something a little more sophisticated with less kids running around you’d be best off walking up the road to the Pied Bull, but if you like lots of activity, people watching and being next to the river then this is the pub for you. Prices about average.
