The catchment area school for Southfield Lea, Southfield Green, Collingwood Grange and East Cramlington. This first school has recently become a primary and is now full to bursting point. It will move to its new site at the old Southlands Middle School buildings in a few months time and then the school will have much better facilities than it has at present. At the moment, I can only give the school two stars as it is a bit hit and miss. Currently in special measures, it has a new acting head who appears to be doing her best to turn the school around. Most of the teachers are good, although some are pretty poor. The Foundation Stage staff are good and the kids enjoy going to school. There are some limited after school activities, although these could be improved. There is a before and after school club which is handy for working parents. When the facilities are less cramped and the new head has had more opportunity to turn the school around, this school will deserve more stars.
