the Health suite = pathetic…1 steam room, 1 sauna and 1 cold shower thats all there was. no jacuzzi no showers, changing facilities were next to the pool which was a very long walk away… small & cramped the ‘suite’ felt more like a ‘corner’
while the pool itself was filled with blue water (the kind you expect in a swimming pool) the whole place was disgusting, rusty banisters, black mold on the tiles, showers were look warm at best, everything about it felt dirty. if you think the playdrome is an eyesore from the outside the inside is even worse.
You couldn’t pay me to go back.

I remember when The Playdrome arrived in Clydebank. With queues forming out the door, it sent locals into a wave machine, tyre flume induced spin.
Fifteen years later the place still looks the same. There are no longer queues out the door. With the arrival of the Donald Dewer Centre and Scotstoun Leisure Centre, Bankies are going elsewhere for their fitness needs.

Can’t comment on the gym and fitness classes as I have no experience of them. However, I was not impressed with the pool area. The «length» pool is not that big. It was also full of neds when I visited.
Instead I would recommend Scotstoun Leisure Centre. The pool is much bigger and does not seem to attract so many neds.

I’ve been dragged here a few times with the kids I look after; bewitched by tales of flumes and wave machines. The two flumes have lived up to my expectations — one open with awesome huge rubber rings and one closed. The wave machine is also pretty cool, but I grew a certain distaste for it when I realised it was a mechanism for swooshing dirty plasters past my face regularly.
It’s pretty well equipped, with a teaching pool for kiddies, a splash pool for even littler kiddies, a jacuzzi, a large pool with lanes for real swimmers, and a beach style pool for families.
However, it falls down on the hygiene front — the changing rooms ain’t too sweet, and they must overcompensate on the chlorine in the pool for this; the smell of it doesn’t come off your skin for a couple of days. Manky.

Great pool for kids and adults, 3 pools inc. 25m traditional, baby pool, large wave & splash pool and 2 large indoor slides.
Unfortunately fun pools closed during school term daytime, but during holidays large inflatables put on 25m for kids who can swim. Small surf floats available.
