Your typical Whetherspoons pub, cheap food and booze in decent surroundings. I eat there every Monday with my 70 something grandma and she loves the place. At £3.60 for a panini, chips and a soft drink you can’t really go wrong! Definitely one of the nicer pubs in Chorley town centre. The décor is quite traditional and there is no live sport on TV which can make it a more relaxed place to grab a beer and some food. Always busy no matter what time you go during the day or night, but the service is always good and waiting times for food are very reasonable. You really get your money’s worth. The one thing that could be improved is that the toilet is upstairs which is a bit of a pain.

This pub is named after Chorley’s most celebrated son. Sir Henry Tate began his working life as a grocer, made a fortune from sugar refining and left his collection of paintings to the nation. He also funded the building of the Tate Gallery. This is my first visit to a Wetherspoons. Nice place. Few people but it’s midday. Looking around the meals people have look good and well served on the plate. Not in a pile of «what is it» Only having a coffee but will revisit and try food. Service very slow but I will give the poor man is due. Four fingers on right hand bandaged. When I asked the reply was. ” I had a problem with a lamp post last night “. Not really sure what that meant but 10 points for a good try. Facilities Broadcasts Live News Cask Marque Accredited Children Welcome Music in the Evening TV Screens Wifi subtitled news(on silent) throughout the day

One of the more cozy Wetherspoons, with all of their good points. Sensible beer prices with a good selection of lagers. The food is ok and some of their meal deals with a beer are worth trying. It gets busy at weekend but a good place to go while in the bright city lights of Chroley !!

Relatively new large pub /restaurant in the centre of Chorley next to Booths. A number of different areas to eat or drink. Quite well laid out and furnished. Big bar area so no shouting over people but usually a bit understaffed with staff preparing drinks for diners rather than customers waiting at the bar. Never very clean with bits of food on the floor. Not very children friendly and can get a bit rough. Nice place but seems poorly run.

This place feels warm and friendly as soon as you walk in, but the food is always cold on both times we have eaten there. This pub would be ok for me if i was just having a drink or on a night out. In the day time it takes a long time to get served and on many occasions they have run out of the free fruit bags and activity packs for the kiddies!

Situated next to the historic Chorley Market, The Sir Henry Tate(named after one of Chorley’s Historic sons) is a great Wetherspoons pub. Featuring a gallery on its second floor where you can look out to the foothills of the Penines, and a great selection of affordable meals and drinks. You will find the surroundings pleasant, the staff courteous and welcoming and the people friendly. There are also good disabled facilities, and clean facilities.

It’s another great Wetherspoons the drinks are cheap, the place is clean and the food is great. Wether you want a coffee while you’re shopping or an evening meal and a few drinks you are made welcome. I’ve tried a few different meals and have enjoyed all of them but the warm chicken and bacon salad has to be my favourite. The toilets are always clean and I don’t know how you feel but dirty toilets anywhere but especially where they serve food puts me off. They are open SunThu 9ammidnight; Fri/Sat 9am 1am.
