It can be something of a nightmare in the UK finding a solicitor who can deal with legal issues in a foreign country. My partner needed a Spanish lawyer to help advise on preparing a Spanish will and then notarising it.
We had tried several places in London but found the level of service somewhat lacking — unwilling to answer questions until we’d committed to doing business with them. To me, this is something of a catch-​22, as helpfulness is a key criterion for me when choosing any service provider, especially one in an area as critical but potentially fraught as legal services in a foreign country, foreign language and with a different legal system!
