History

Established in 1997.

Started as a hobby, Roper’s have been keeping bees since 1957. We are now classed as Bee Farmers with around 100 colonies of bees. At our Bee Farm, you can see where we extract the honey, watch bees, taste and buy our local honey. We have manufactured our own bee hives since 1997 and now manufacture National Bee hives for sale from our Showroom/​Shop along with a full range of beekeeping equipment and more. Visit us at Sutton Scarsdale. You can also find us on the Farmers’ Market at Chesterfield.

We also stand the Chesterfield Market on Saturdays.

Business Owner

Tim was inspired to become a Bee Farmer by his father who started keeping bees as a hobby in 1957. Tim started his background in farming when he was still at school, working for the local farmers. Roper’s now have over 100 colonies of bees managed by Father, Son and Grandson.
