For some reason there appears to be somewhat of a baby boom in my family where over the last couple of years there has been a continuous stream of the women in my family having babies, including my mum and countless cousins. So when another one of my cousins revealed she was pregnant; under the order of my mother I thought I’d pop along to the mother and baby store just down the road. That store of course was Tikkity Boo where I was to get a couple of outfits for the new baby the staff were very smiley and what I thought was quite interesting about this place(call me sad) but the accepted American Express which is quite strange now a days especially in small shops because its costs the owners more money for the rental of the AMEX machine. Quite a few big stores have stopped accepting American Express so that kind f made my day. As well as clothes the store also sells car seats, prams, maternity wear and all sorts motherly goodies.

I don’t think I’d ever seen a nursery boutique before I came across this place. That on its own grabbed my interest as I’d previously been of the opinion that prams/car seats/high chairs were all pretty much the same just different sizes and colours. Apparently not. This shop has a wonderful collection of really cute, kind of fancy baby things like oval cribs, Moses baskets, and all sorts of pink and yellow gingham. And then some really weird stuff that looks like it came from the future. A great combination of classic and innovative nursery things designed to look good and make life easier. Obviously for things like this that are a little bit more special than what you’ll find in Mothercare, it’s a tad on the pricey side, but any expectant parent would be daft not to come here at least to look at all the awesome things they sell. They also do «Boo Baskets» which are baskets(duh) that you can fill with goodies either for your baby or to give as a gift. A lovely idea for baby showers. I hope more of my friends have babies soon so I have an excuse to come back to this shop and marvel at all its wonders.
