How long have you been working in the music industry for?

Over 30 years! I first started working in an amplifier company at the age of 19. My line manager taught me how to play guitar when I worked there too — we’re both left-​handed.

What’s been the highlight of working in the music industry for you?

Well first of all, I love my job. And not only that, I’ve met some fantastic people ever the years working in Cardiff and Newport. The greatest thing for me is meeting life-​long customers, who then bring their children in to the shop, and then their children’s children! Providing musical instruments to three generations has been a wonderful experience, and I look forward to meeting the fourth.

What’s your most treasured instruments at home?

I’ve had my Martin HD-​28 for 20 years — it’s a very special guitar to me! I’ve also had my Novation Elite since 1987.

We heard you are a great lover of vintage guitars?

Yes, absolutely. At the moment I have three Fender Stratocasters, my favourite on
