Not sure why this gem doesn’t appear under Indian Restaurants in categories but it is simply the best. Not just the best in Canterbury but one of the finest I have tried anywhere in the world! Great value, great service, great atmosphere and truly outstanding food. Every dish I have tried has been perfect. Thoroughly recommended.

This place is an institution in Canterbury. I can’t remember it not being there. It’s well off the beaten track and probably doesn’t get many tourists, but it’s near one of the river streams than run through the town and the interior has wonderful traditional exposed beams and a spacious feel. But it’s the food that really deserves a mention! They do the typical(Dansak/Madras/Korma) dishes but it’s well worth going for something new here, and the Chef’s Specials are aptly named. The chef(s) here clearly know everything about herbs and spices and the combinations are so fresh and well thought out that it’s a delight to eat here(or order take away). My favourite at the moment is the«Mint Curry» which is fragrant and mouthwateringly tasty but not a particularly hot dish. I urge you to try this restaurant if you haven’t already– its a place Canterbury can be very proud of!
