The Dolphin is a nice enough little café on Colne Road that serves the English takeaway fare such as butties, cakes, pies and pasties. The food is all tasty and service tends to be quick and efficient. The prices are reasonable and it has a good reputation locally. It’s based on a quite busy road and so seems to pick up a lot of passing trade which means it can be busy, particularly first thing in the morning and at lunchtimes. Despite this, the queues always seem to die down quickly and you shouldn’t find yourself waiting too long to be served. It’s hardly haute cuisine but if you’re looking for some tasty, wholesome English food to save you cooking yourself, then The Dolphin is well worth a visit.
