Transglobal Express

I would give zero stars instead of one if I could:
In 2009 I used their service to move my books and other property (12 parcels) from the UK to Greece when I finished my studies. The parcels got lost, spread around different cities, and arrived about a month later, only after I contacted DHL (the carrier) to find out what had happened. One of the parcels never arrived and I filled in a compensation claim form through Transglobal Express to be forwarded to DHL. They never contacted me about my refund and instead they charged me extra money for overweight, even though I was careful to overestimate the actual weight of my parcels in order to avoid such additional costs (ironically the parcels that finally found their way to me weighed even less than the overall stated amount). When I asked them about my refund claim they wrote me that there was a discrepancy with DHL over the number of parcels which they were waiting to resolve and they would contact me later (it was already 5 months after my initial order). This never happened and I never received the due refund. Overall my loss was about 450GBP, not to mention the time and effort I wasted.
I think the problem in the first palce was that when I made the order through their website, I was erroneously advised to not print any labels to stick on the parcels, because my address details would be passed to DHL automatically. This apparently didn’t happen and the DHL employee who came for the collection asked me to write the address on the parcels by hand, which for some reason was totally ignored and overwritten with new incorrect labels by DHL. This already means that the Tranglobal Express online ordering service is incorrectly configured. But what I couldn’t imagine is that they would be so irresponsible and unconcerned about paying me compensation! I guess they relied on the fact that I was just a student and had just left the UK, so it would be inconvenient for me to sue them which was indeed true.

Transglobal are currently trying the same tactic with me. I have disputed the charges they have raised and despite the fact that they cannot provide any proof to counter the precise measurements we made of our parcel they just handed the case over to a debt collection agency causing us huge amounts of inconvenience. I will never use them again nor recommend them to any of our associates.

We ship goods from several places in europe to other places.
We
had a parcel arrive from Germany to UK via DHL and then booked to have
it forwarded, checking the DHL label, and remeasuring, checking the DHL
label wieght and resmeasuring.
After a week of arrivial we were sent an invoice demeaning ¹⁄₃ extra payment for incorrect sizes and weights.
Now we are a distribution business and deal with packages on a daily basis.
We
have electronic weight equipment and measured 2 times, in addition
checked the DHL and invoice when delivered from Germany to UK.
Still they said UPS autosize checked and its over the wieght stated and size but quite a lot.
We sent 5 parcels over 1 year with transglobal, and 4 incurred small or much larger subcharges for several reasons.
I
believe this is not an honest company, they place low prices upfront to
gain your custom, then surcharge heavy after hiding behind the carrier
and claiming the charges orginate from them
Be warned, it is
likely your cost will increase by ¹⁄₃ to ½ half after booking with
them. Especially if your order is over the £70 range. We only had 1
parcel not incur extra charges, the total price was less than £40 so it
was likely not open to having extra profit made from it.
I would
strongly encourage people not to use transgolbal. We use carriers every
day, send parcels out on a daily basis and only have had these problems
with Transglobal.
Searching for transglobal express review and other terms will lead to
results showing this is common practice or this company and i am not
alone.
