Short of channel hopping to France to check out an authentic boulangerie /patisserie, this place is a pretty good substitute. The quality of the food is excellent, and the fact that it’s often open on a Sunday morning is a real bonus — call me a middle class yob but you can’t beat a decent croissant with your Sunday morning coffee and paper! Another thing I like about French Confection is that if you’ve got time, you can sit outside and watch the world go by with a drink and a nibble, but equally if you’re in a bit of a rush, the staff are quick and efficient and always very friendly. And another good thing(good if I’ve got the kids with me anyway!) is that they sell off their broken cakes and biscuits in little bags for very little money — these go down brilliantly with the kids. A big thumbs up from me!
