Coming from a farming family I am always on the look out for places like this. Where the meat is top notch, the services is fantastic, and the price is cheap(well two out of three aint bad!) If you love you fat cuts of bacon, your red raw thick juicy steaks and lamb and pork that hasn’t be de-boned so is still fully flabour some then this is the place to come. Redland is not especially known for its fresh meat, fruit and veg, but I hope this butcher will slowly draw in more of the fresh food business. As I said earlyer, the price isn’t cheap, but that does come hand in hand when you buy organic foods — you are paying for quality though so don’t worry!

Just off Blackboy Hill, Sheepdrove organic butchers has become quite a haunt for my family in the past few years, so I’ve come to know their products very well. In a market of organic ethical farmers, Sheepdrove really hit the nail, gaining professional awards and certifications from a host of industry bodies. Their shop was recently refurbished, when they added a very high tech looking butchers unit at the back — you can see them carve up the meat through the glass doors, which is a really fascinating thing to watch. Sheepdrove farm is located in Berkshire, and the family butchers have another shop in the swanky Maida Vale in London. The price is not cheap, but it’s a price worth paying for quality and sustainability of the food. They’re animals are farmed ethically, and I have it on very good authority that it’s one of the best run farms in England.
