This review is for the roast, and the roast alone. For the evening meals and as a pub I haven’t tried it out in about 10 years. The lamb the lamb the lamb. We had a party of twelve for my birthday and we all had the lamb, its that amazing. cooked to perfection every time we’ve been(at least five times now.) The meat comes with potatoes and the veg of cauliflower cheese, mixed greens, red cabbage and carrots are served in generous portions from side plates. Home made gravy is also a pour your own job, and the kitchen are always willing to bring more. Importantly, the accommodating chef provides all gluten free alternatives, rather than just committing them from my plate or slapping some cardboard type replacement. Its worth mentioning that all the roasts have been tried, and loved, but every member decided on the lamb as the Queen. The roasts aren’t cheap at around £11 a head but, for the quality served, its incredibly reasonable. This pub is clean and warm with roaring fires and friendly faces. A playground out the back entertains the kids in the summer and its dog friendly. In a nut shell Best roast(esp gluten free) in Bristol and the surrounds. Book in advance as its quite small and say if you need a gluten free meal.

Very impressed with the food here. I have been twice now to order from their lite bites selection as it’s so delicious. We had the homemade Scotch egg and ham and cheese croquettes which are both so tasty. We also had the nachos one time and chicken wings which were also very nice. Inside is small so would advise to book if going for a meal.
