History

Established in 2004.

Owner Serge Rolland started selling photographs from his travels in early 2000 on the street of Brighton every weekend outside of the restaurant where he use to work .

He eventually quit his job after 10 years of bartending to concentrate on this new venture.

A few years later Serge was able to secure a stall in the old post office indoor market on Ship Street where he traded daily for quite a few years.

Unfortunately the owners of the old post office decided to close the market without notice.

Serge was forced to go back on the street to sell his photos until he moved into the current shop in 2009.

Meet the Business Owner

Serge R.

Business Owner

His life as a photographer began by accident.

His story begins in a London bar where he was working the night shift .

A man entered the bar and staid most of the night.

Before finally leaving he made his way to the counter and handed Serge the camera. At first Serge refused to take it but because the man was so adamant that he should, Serge finally accepted his offer.

For many months the camera sat quietly in Serge’s room until one day he bought his first roll of film…

Although Serge still has this original camera he now uses a Nikon FM2 and combines this classic manual SLR with modern scanning and printing technologies to produce high quality prints.
