Seven Dials Launderette

This launderette actually came to the rescue a few weeks back for me. I was at my girlfriend’s house and ended up spilling black coffee on my coat whilst mucking about. Her washing machine was out of action and she suggested I walk up the launderette to get it sorted. This also meant that she loaded me up with a wash she had been meaning to do!!!
Armed with a anthropology book to pass the time, I was pleased to see that they had coffee and a TV. It’s been a while since I have used a launderette (I do wash, honest!), but the usual mind numbing boredom was offset with the amenities provided.
It was quite busy (I was in there on a Saturday), but I only had to wait about 5 minutes before a washer became available. I guess that you don’t really need to know the whole story of the wash, but the prices were about the same as I remember paying 5 – 6 years ago, hence I would class them reasonable.
I suppose that you aren’t going to go out of your way to find a launderette, you will always use the nearest, but the SD folks get a pretty good deal on washday in my opinion.
Oh yes and their machines aren’t bad, the coffee came out completely!

For a launderette, this is pretty good.
Ok, that may be damning with faint praise slightly, but there are many worse places to do your laundry around.
It’s often pretty full here, probably because of the large number of small flats around this area which are unlikely to have their own washing machines.
There is a coffee machine, soap powder available to buy in cups, and opening hours til 7pm — great if you’ve just realised on a Friday after work that you haven’t washed that dress you want to wear on Saturday night.

Let’s face it; doing the laundry is pretty boring. If you’re fortunate enough to have the facilities at home, it can be something that chugs along efficiently in the background, while you get on with more important things. If however, you live in rented accommodation and don’t have this luxury, you probably use your local laundrette.
It is therefore nice when you visit a laundrette that has friendly staff, competitive prices, drinks and a TV. The TV is a real bonus and makes that laborious task just tick by nicely.
