We are an NHS GP practice integrated with private complementary therapies, including acupuncture, osteopathy, massage, psychotherapy, herbal medicine, pilates, yoga, and nutrition.

History

Established in 2013.

We grew out of the increasing demand from patients to have more choice in their healthcare. BHWC came together from the merging of an existing GP practice with a well-​established complementary health centre. We are the first of our kind in the UK and continually innovate and challenge the traditional way of providing healthcare to better meet our patients’ needs.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

I was an undergraduate at Southampton University. I initially trained as a Paediatrician at Kingston and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals in London. In 1999 I qualified as a Member of the Royal College of Child Health and Paediatrics. In 2003 I retrained in General Practice but have maintained a special interest in Child Health. I have three children of my own who are now young teenagers. I believe passionately that excellent primary care is the cornerstone of providing high quality health care for communities. I have a strong interest in Narrative Medicine and Integrated Medicine. I am a great admirer the work of Dr Victoria Sweet in San Francisco. I have taught medical students at Brighton and Sussex Medical Schools and have completed my training with the KSS deanery and hope to start training new GP’s at the Practice in 2014. I believe learning is a lifelong habit. I learn more everyday from the people I see in clinics than I do anywhere else.
