In my younger days, I use to come here a lot. It has really good fish and chips. Over the years, the owners have changed but this has not affected the quality of the food, I’ve been back a few times recently and was so glad that the Fish and chips were of the same quality and taste I remembered from years ago.

While the prices are quit reasonable and helpings very sizeable, the chips were extremely soggy. The veggie spring rolls are rather decent though.

Why is it that all fish and chips shops in London claim to have won some sort of award all of which differ from each other? Are there so many fish and chip shop competitions? This is the question I pondered on whilst waiting to be served at The Blue Oyster Fish Bar, which coincidentally claims to have won a prize for best fish and chip shop of the year.
For once however I can agree with this accolade. The chips are fat, the batter is thick and it is open all day (unusual for London chippies). There is also a large seating area at the front, ideal if you’re not keen on eating fish and chips the traditional English way (in the rain on the street outside).

When I lived in wembley a few years back, many people talked about this place has being the best fish and chip restaurant around! They weren’t wrong! Very very good chips and delicious fish!
