You won’t catch me here, its awful! I’d rather go central london and pay £10 a drink then 10mins from my own house and pay those prices!

I don’t know why Peaches has no reviews thus far but I’ll happily be the first. It’s hard to find a nice place to go out for swanky cocktails and a dressed up evening with a group of friends or a date, but Peaches hits the spot. This luxe cocktail bar and restaurant is known for it’s generous dining menu and list of cocktails. Seeing as I didn’t eat there, I can only comment on the cocktails and the service. Our group of 8 had exceptional service during our night out. Lots of attentive wait staff, plenty of seating, good music, and chic décor. We had a few round of drink, music was playing, and we headed before it got too crowded. I had a good time here and wanted to stay on but everyone had a hankering to go back to someone’s house for more drinks and mischief. I would go to Peaches again, this time for a full night out. I can’t rate it with full stars all the way because my time there was only a few hours and we didn’t dine, but for the cocktails we had(standard prices) and the service we received, it was pleasant enough. I had wanted to go for ages after driving by several times and we finally went. I’m glad we did.

A nice looking venue which seems to have recently been refurbished(2011). Door code is variable, door staff give you real grief if you don’t have i.d. which is amazing considering I’ve been there for dinner with groups of friends in the 30 – 50 age range. The i.d. policy is rather intrusive — they scan your i.d. and it comes up on a screen so everyone can see your details which, to me, is an invasion of privacy. The food is very over-priced and out of the many dishes available that we sampled, only 1 or 2 were worth having, the rest were very bland and the portion sizes were very small. A lamb curry, for example, was awash with very watery gravy that had no taste and there were about 5 small pieces of lamb floating sadly in the plate! Drinks are extremely over-priced — cocktails at around £8 and the cheapest bottle of wine around £16. Really not worth the price. Service in the restaurant is probably above average — which one should hope it is as a service charge is included in your bill. The smoking area has a shisha loungue but if you want to go for a smoke after about 10:30 the door staff make you queue up — it’s shocking and pointless! Toilets are decent and well stocked but there is usually a woman sitting in there blocking access to the hand driers so she can hand you hand towels and expects a tip for doing nothing much. Service at the bar is very random — if you flirt with the bar staff you get served quickly — although they get so busy flirting that they forget there are other customers waiting to be served. I don’t out to dinner with my husband and other couples to flirt with bar staff tbh — I’d just like to get served when I need a drink. The venue is open till 3am with a DJ and dance floor — the DJ seems to just play what he wants to — doesn’t really know how to get the crowd dancing which is a shame. Verdict: looks good but overly priced for what it actually is. Probably suitable for people in late teens early 20s as they still remember what it feels like to be treated like a kid; but they wouldn’t be able to afford it anyway!
