From those hard to find ingredients to the best local strawberries money can buy. Cawthornes is old world charm and service meets more modern convenience items. As a veggie I’m seriously well catered for. You can pack the best picnic baskets from here with freshly baked breads, local cheeses, locally made quiches and pies, hummus, olives plus lots of fresh, local fruit and veg. I’m so glad this is my local store; who needs tesco?

great locally run supermarket thats like the tardis!
seems to sell everyhing that the majors dont, herbs, spiced, local fruit and veg. Flowers, fresh baked bread, frozen food everything youll need, and its local in the village so always handy, and the late night opeings are a bons for the choc fix at the end of the day!

Cawthornes is a supermarket that is in the centre of Braunton. The shop always seems to have customers going in and out, but it’s never that busy that you have to queue for ages. It sells the same as most supermarkets: Fruit and vegetables, Alcohol, sweets, frozen food and lots more. The shop itself is quite big so there is plenty of room to move around. Everything is well organised and easy to find. In the summer they normally have displays outside with strawberries on which I normally see and then end up buying some. The prices in there are average and the staff are all really friendly and helpful.
