Esoteric Acupuncture is a form of spiritual acupuncture focused on supporting and assisting our own spiritual and energetic growth. It is ideal for those working with tai chi, chi gong, meditation, yoga, western magical paths or other spiritual disciplines. It is also for those who have simply heard about Esoteric Acupuncture and feel drawn to having a treatment.

Esoteric Acupuncture uses patterns of points based on the principles of acupuncture, the Qabalah, the chakra system and traditional spiritual and energetic principles and wisdom, to actively assist us in our own spiritual growth. Whereas traditional acupuncture focuses on treating the body or the emotions, Esoteric Acupuncture works on a more subtle level to awaken our own inner potentials and to assist us in accessing other states of consciousness. Unlike in traditional acupuncture, in an Esoteric Acupuncture treatment, the needles are inserted only very superficially. The intention is not to elicit a physical response but to create a pattern which works on a more subtle level.

Esoteric Acupuncture assists us in becoming conscious of and able to live in progressively deeper and more profound spiritual energies or levels of awareness. The patterns of Esoteric Acupuncture assist and support our own inner work, whatever form this may take. Sessions of Esoteric Acupuncture can be very powerful and feel very different from a traditional acupuncture treatment.

History

Established in 2002.

I have been practicing Acupuncture since 2002 after training at two colleges in the south of England; the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and the South West College of Oriental Medicine in Bristol. This gave me a good grounding in two very different, though complementary styles of acupuncture; 5 element style, which is English in it’s roots and focuses strongly on emotional level treatments and TCM, which is the main style practiced today in China and which focuses on physical level treatments. After I graduated with my licence to practice in 2002 I very quickly began offering Esoteric Acupuncture treatments.

IIn common with a number of acupuncture practitioners around the world, I felt that there was something which could be added to the way in which traditional acupuncture was taught and practised. Though acupuncture is an energetic based therapy, it is predominantly used to treat physical problems, though with some systems focussing more on emotional issues. Rarely is it focussed specifically on treating spiritual blocks or to assist us in our spiritual growth. It was this gap that I perceived early on in my training and wished to remedy. Esoteric Acupuncture does this perfectly by focussing on actively assisting our own spiritual evolution.

The ‘Patterns’ used in Esoteric Acupuncture are, on one level new, in that they draw upon the principles of Qabalistic and Yogic traditions, which are not normally associated with acupuncture. However, while the form may be new, the intention behind this form is as old as humanity; to assist us in becoming more conscious of our true nature.
