Description

Specialties

Wrapchic is the world’s very first eatery that wraps together all the exciting and vibrant flavours of Indian street food, into an easy to eat Mexican form.

History

Established in 2012.

Even as the idea of blending Mexican food with Indian Cuisine was simmering in his mind, Mumbai born Mahesh Raikar (Founder), a diehard foodie had cooked up the ultimate vision for Wrapchic «to be the most loved burrito company in the world.»

Now recognised as the «Fastest Growing Emerging Brand in the UK» the only chain of its kind in the world has grown from a single unit in July 2012 to 12 sites in 2016.

Wrapchic now has over 12 stores and is successfully trading in various sectors and locations — from universities, hospitals, to malls and the high street and now trade in 8 major cities of UK.

Meet the Business Owner

Mahesh R.

Business Owner

With the benefit of 18 years in the food industry, including a senior role in a Fortune 500 company, self-confessed foodie Mahesh was the perfect person to have the lightbulb moment of making incredibly popular Indian cuisine more easily available to people around the clock — most specifically at lunchtime.

People all over the UK love Indian food, yet Mahesh could see no practical way for people to enjoy it with the informality of a lunchtime sandwich. Then it became clear — if the wrap could be a delicious vehicle for wonderful, fresh Mexican food, then why not Indian?

Like most successful entrepreneurs, Mahesh is not fond of waiting for things to happen, however he spent 2 years working tirelessly on his idea before investing his own money to launch Wrapchic in 2012. After copious research, testing and retesting, designing and redesigning, Mahesh found a great location in Birmingham and opened his doors to a slightly bemused, yet instantly converted public.
