The Works

not good at all

Had to laugh at the other review — this place (and the chain in general) does seem to be constantly advertising sales yet never changing the prices. The Works is a discount, bargain bookstore, and as such, probably isn’t going to have a specific book you’re after. It’s filled with tat that didn’t sell at full-​price retail so has been shifted here. But it’s always worth looking around as the books really are impressively cheap and you might find something decent. For example, and your tastes may not go to this, they’re currently selling the Gavin & Stacey book (RRP £17.99) that came out at Christmas for £2.99. And the latest Russell Brand book (the football one) is only £1.99.
Always a good selection of cheap artist materials as well, which are probably low quality but good for a beginner.

Am I the only person to ever notice how many sales this shop seems to have, im not faulting however I just think that there is only many times a year a shop can have a sale and the prices never seem to change. its a great little shop and definately worth having amooch around, you never know what you may find and if your lucky it will be a genuine bargain, I do think however they should lose the word sale that is forever in the windows.
