I visited for lunch; my friend and I weren’t particularly hungry so we shared a pizza. I’ve heard great things about pizza express’ pizzas, but I couldn’t help but feel i was left a bit disappointed. We ordered the Giardiniera, which has artichokes, mushrooms, red peppers, marinated santos tomatoes, leeks, olives, garlic oil, and tomato for topping. The topping tasted great, it was a really lovely combo, the base was slightly charred. It was lovely and soft when we first started cutting into it, but as it cooled it became hard and really difficult to cut, in turn difficult to chew… on the plus side they do provide u with a pizza cutter. We ordered a side of polenta chips which to be honest were not to my liking, had a weird consistency and a tangy dipping sauce. The best part in my opinion was the dessert I had the mini chocolate brownie with a hot chocolate… and its egg free by the way! It was smooth and bittersweet, very rich, but a little dense so I think a mini size was just right for it. The hot choc was great with whipped cream on top. The restaurant looked good, bathroom was very clean, staff were very helpful and friendly, but considering the quality of food we got for the price I wasn’t too impressed and I don’t think I’ll visit again, not when there’s so many more independent pizzeria’s around.

I have been here a few times for business lunches and always found it to be good. At lunchtimes it is usually quiet and ideal for meetings as you can talk without having to talk over other people nearby. There seem to be quite a few mum’s and children in at lunchtimes as they do a good kids menu. We have never had to book as there has always been enough tables available. We have starters and mains and the food is always really good and freshly made for you. The waiters are friendly and always ask if your meal is ok plus offer you coffees and deserts without you having to ask for the menu. Everything is reasonably priced and good value for money.

A pizza express is a pizza express — there isn’t a lot to be said. The food is consistently good although I think Strada is now giving them a run for their money. I’m reviewing it though because I think the Harborne Pizza Express is really nice — the service had always been very friendly and I think they go out of their way to be accommodating to kids. They are obviously used to a lot of Harborne yummy mummies in here. They have a nice glass top extension at the back of the restaurant, which feels quite spacious although that section isn’t always open. I really like the kids menus at Pizza Express as I feel they are quite healthy. Wish my kids liked the menu there as I’d be there more often!

This pizza express is very large and boasts the usual range of pizzas. the staff tend to get very busy, but are always welcoming and the atmosphere is very good. it is great for families with large groups of children and students.
