If you live or work in the JQ and you want to find out about parking permits, then you need to visit here. If you’re new to the JQ and want to orient yourself, then you need to visit here. Visiting this information booth may prove tricky however, as they never seem to be open. If you DO manage to get in, they have reams of interesting leaflets and posters and information — as well as some books about the heritage of the area that you can flick through. If the Hockley Flyer(local magazine) is to be believed, the booth may not be around forever thanks to the new developments happening around it, though there’s also rumours that the booth itself is now listed, which should help to keep it in place regardless of any ‘golden’ developments happening around it. Time will tell!

This is one of the most useful information centres I’ve ever been to when visiting a place. The staff here are super friendly and helpful, it’s just a shame that the hours are so limited and so you always have to remember when it’s best to nip in. The staff have been around a while and so they know all sorts about the area and will guide you in the right direction. You can find walking guides in here, local history books and they are also the place to head when trying to fathom the council parking drama of the Jewellery Quarter with all their permits. If you are new to the area or visiting for this first time it is a really handy place to check in if you can time your visit to a day they are open.
