Fox & Goose Public House

The Fox & Goose is a massive old pub, looking to bring back the community spirit to pubs that was lost when we started locking our doors and going on the internet for everything. In the evenings there is a wide variety of entertainment to go with your, affordably priced, food and drink ranging from live music, sports events or stand-​up comedy. At lunchtimes the pub offers a range of 3 course meals at a staggering 99p per course! As with the evenings there is entertainment to be found on a Monday and Thursday, namely free and easy & bingo, with more events and entertainment on the horizon. The pub boasts a huge function room which can be hired for anything from Wedding receptions to Zumba or your chess club meeting. The function room is usually available free of charge so if you are struggling to find a venue for your business give the landlady a shout and make use of the Fox and Goose’s excellent facilities.

One of the women working here was pretty rude to us when we entered the pub. Our table was dirty so we kindly asked if she would mind getting a cloth as all the other tables were taken and she ignored us, huffed and walked off.
We ended up having to clear the table ourselves! We ordered a couple of drinks but as the atmosphere was frosty after that, we decided to go else where to dine and buy a full bottle of wine.
Overall, the venue was pretty shabby and the staff need some training in customer service skills.

The fox & Goose is not a pub that particularly appeals to me personally.
I went in and felt slightly on edge as I was not a regular. It is not the nicest looking pub and it attracts a mixed crowd. It is a traditional pub sporting the old fashioned décor and atmosphere. There is outside seating, where I diverted to, so I could enjoy the sun.
