Well, it kinda worries me there are previous and seriously negative comments when my experience over the last few years is pretty good. First, the online ordering system is superb. You can even check for discounts at your local branch and they’re not hidden away — they encourage you! It’s easy to select what you want and the size, crust, etc. and pretty much all you may want for a pizza night in is there: starters, main, dessert, drinks. Always do a Google to see if there are discount codes. My current order is 30% off based on a 10 second Google! This is better than the local mid-week delivery deal by £3−4 quid. Better in my pocket, or can go as a tip for the delivery geezer if s/he’s timely and pleasant. The base and sauce is pretty good every time, a bit bland tho’, the cheese quality is about acceptable and the toppings barely OK: this is fast food after all! It’s very easy and reasonably tasty for when you need a major injection of pizza! It’s in no way the standard(in my opinion) of what will be an often cheaper specialist restaurant offering, but that’s isn’t what you pay for with Domino — it’s really all about the speed and convenience.

To start with… I really enjoy domino’s pizza, but my recent experience with online orders have put the Constitution Hill branch in my negative book. The online ordering system is straight forward, but the pizza tracking is false… It tells you the pizza is delivered when you have not yet received it, this is obviously not fit for purpose. I called the Constitution Hill branch only to be told its on its way, 45mins later; I was still waiting. I called again and I was told that the driver was making multiple drops, to shorten the story, the pizza arrived but was almost cold. I wish I had paid via Paypal, I would have rejected the pizza. Anyway, I still like Dominos pizza, but Constitutional Hill need to get there act together.

I like dominoes pizza. However, the service at this place is awful. I like to order pizza online so that I can customise the pizzas with clear clarification(doing this on the phone has always wielded bad experiences, wherever I’ve ordered from). So this dominoes is the only one that I’m given the option to order from. Despite bad experiences I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt several times(mainly because there isn’t a Pizza Hut in range of delivery for us). However, they’ve delivered wrong pizzas, and had missing items several times. The last straw was when dough balls sent were covered in soap.(Yes, soap! They clearly hadn’t rinsed the tray they were cooked on properly). The drivers don’t deliver to your door if you live in an apartment, often waiting half way down the street handing you your pizza out of the window of the car(even though we told them how to get into the apartments/that we have a car park that they can come to). The management you speak to when you call up are rude and abhorrent, with possibly the worst customer service skills I’ve come across in a long time. Don’t waste your time and cash here, if we want delivered pizza in the JQ now we order from caspian, much less hassle.

This review has to start with a little bit of background… Me and my other half(the fantabulous Dan G) have our anniversary on February 16th, so we very rarely do anything for Valentines Day. What we do like to do, however, is order pizza, drink Prosecco and watch films. It’s never a mental, crazy night; but it means we get to spend time with each other and enjoy fast food(which we hardly ever actually eat). For the last few years we have ordered from Dominos. I’m a sucker for online ordering(especially when you can pay with Paypal meaning you don’t have to mess around with card details) and it’s as simple as going online, selecting your address, choosing your food and paying. They even have a funky system which tells you 1) when the order has been received, 2) when the order is processed, 3) when the pizza is being prepared, 4) when it’s in the oven and 5) when it’s out for delivery. Imagine our delight when just 20 minutes after the order had been placed, our pizza was out for delivery! It may have been a cold and windy night, but we were all set for a lovely night of eating, drinking and chilling out. So we settled in and waited… and waited… and waited… After an hour had passed(that’s right, one hour), we got a call from our delivery driver telling us the traffic was bad. Now… this doesn’t exactly ring true. We live around the corner from this branch and the traffic is NEVER bad(especially to do the less than 5 minute drive to our house). Still… we waited… 15 minutes later, we get another call from the driver telling us he’s outside. A simple glance out the window tells me he’s NOT outside, he is halfway down the street. I even explained this to him(without avail). Queue my poor other half going out in the rain and cold to collect said pizza. He even asked the delivery driver the policy on late deliveries and got the answer«I don’t know». Well, thanks for the well-trained staff Dominos! Once we finally had the pizza in our grasp(you guessed it), it was cold. So our valentines order consisted of late, cold pizza as collected by a cold, damp boyfriend. Very poor show. Needless to say, we’ll be looking to order from elsewhere next year…
