Chelmsley & District Conservative Club

This is just an average social club to be honest, and contains the usual stereotypical dark, dingy old furniture and décor. But it certainly serves a purpose for celebrations, and I’ve been here for various friend’s birthdays and special occasions: I’ve never had a bad night here either.
I guess the club has been given a bit of a bad name over the last few months, mainly because of a stabbing that took place outside in November 2011. But don’t let that put you off, there’s nothing wrong with the staff or clientele that drink inside here at all!
I’ve built a love for this place, because it introduced me to one of my now-​favourite beverages called a Whiskey Mac. I’d noticed that they stocked Stones green ginger wine on the shelf, and rather excitedly, I asked if I could have some (because I love this drink!). The barman replied «have you ever tried it with whiskey?», I looked at him quite strangely, as green ginger wine is strong enough alone, without adding whiskey! Nevertheless, I persisted in trying what the barman called a «Whiskey Mac», and so, my love for the non-​diluted cocktail was born!
