A perfectly pleasant place to spend half an hour or so. Staff are reasonably friendly and efficient, there’s plenty of comfortable seating and the coffee is fine. This is my favourite of the Neros as I like the way it is decorated and there’s a bustling atmosphere due to it being next to the train station. This is a good option for a pre-train coffee as there are usually seats available. Don’t forget to check the downstairs seating too.

I use this caffe Nero as it’s just outside of new street train station, convenient when I get off the train and walk up to the office. Today I used the o2 app priority moments and got a free large coffee. It’s great now as you can get one on any day(Monday to Friday) as it used to be Tuesday only. For months I had been getting regular size but only when one girl asked me if I wanted a large that I realised I had been missing out!!! Ha ha Plus I like their loyalty card scheme where they stamp your card when you have 9 cups so you get the 10th free! Luckily I asked one time, and found you can have a speciality drink for free eg caramelatte. Also what I found out is you can still get a stamp with the o2 code, so even when you don’t pay cash for the drink!!! Bonus!!! As you may have gathered I do like a freebie

What can one say about a chain coffee shop that hasn’t already been said? Of the major chains, Nero produces the best flavoured coffee, for my palette. This one, situated across Stephenson Street from the entrance to Birmingham New Street is spacious with plenty of seating on the ground floor and lots ore downstairs. An excellent rendezvous place or space to while away the time whilst you wait for your train. One thing I am hoping for, though, is that with the refurbishment of New Street station, they’re able to mimic their counterpart near Euston and install departure boards for those of us eschewing the busy concourse for a quiet coffee; fingers crossed.
