Great little coffee house which is perfect for to enjoy a pre-show drink at before you head over to watch a show or performance at the ICC. I recently took my mum to watch a concert here and as were an hour early, we decided to go for a coffee. I’d never been in here before, and if I’m honest I didn’t even know that it existed. We were served by a young man who was pleasat. He had just moved here from Italy and her accent gave us a complete European coffee drinking experience. Although we only popped in for a coffee, there were also usual snacks available such as cake and crisps which weren’t overly priced which they tend to be in places like this.

When I first moved to Birmingham 3 years ago I used to work out of this place almost every day. The coffee was palatable but the main draw is that it was close to where I lived and there was always a table available. I went to the ICC for a meeting last week and was pleased to see it’s still there despite the fact that I had been told it’s now one of those horrid international chains that appear to sell all sorts of hot cups of foam but not really much coffee. The coffee is still palatable and inexpensive but I’m pleased to see they now have some tables with sockets so clearly encouraging the mobile workers to work from there. I’ll definitely be going back with the laptop when I need to be in that area

Café Vite is a great little tea room type of café, with plenty of open plan seating. Located within the ICC on the ground floor, it’s the perfect place to relax and get a cuppa if your early for a show at the Symphony Hall. A good selection of hot and cold food. Try the cupcakes in the stands, they’re just delightful. Coffee, fruit teas, sandwiches and snacks, are all available at a reasonable price. However, this does get exceptionally busy on the weekends, and packed out when a show or performance is on. So you may struggle to find seating. If you are about midweek, I’d give this a go for lunch. It’s not quiet though, so be prepared for a bit of noise. They had the TV on full blast when I popped in, with live news. Which can liven the place up, but as it’s also set in a hall, you hear the sound no matter where you sit. Overall a nice place.
