Pizza Hut

I used to frequent Pizza Hut back when I went to school down the road because it was cheap and you got a lot for your money.
Then I went to University and the wonders of Domino’s and their 24Tuesday offer became my new love.
And then I grew up and realised the virtues of Pizza Express, Pizza Pilgrim, B-​Soho and all the other delicious fresh pizza places London has to offer.
But this New Year’s, with my Subway craving thwarted by the manager’s apparent hangover, there was nothing else for it and nothing else open but Pizza Hut, so it was time to revisit my youth.
We couldn’t stomach a whole pizza so we just ordered cheesy garlic bread, but my mate went for a large pizza and this is where we first noticed a bit of weirdness. She originally wanted a medium but they don’t do medium pizzas for takeaway. Only individual or large and the price difference between them is minimal. So you either need to pay for two individuals if there are two of you, or commit to being a fatty. Strange.
We thought because we’d only ordered garlic bread with a bit of cheese on that our food would come quicker than my friend’s, but nope. Apparently Pizza Hut takes just as long to whack a bit of cheese on bread as it does to make an entire large fresh pizza with loads of toppings on, which was about 20 minutes. Gooooood.
Don’t get me wrong, the food was good. A bit greasy but after a night out, that’s what we wanted so I can’t really complain. It hit the spot for sure. The problem I have with this place is more everything else.
We ordered a drink to go with our food but they didn’t have any plastic cups, so we were given our drinks in glasses. This obviously meant that we had to drink up while we were in there and eat our food later without a drink. Pretty poor when I’ve paid for a takeaway drink.
The service was also pretty poor. They were inattentive, they didn’t listen to us when we asked questions, they were abrupt when handing us the menu and talked down to us slightly. As in, we were looking at one of the two menus they had and were handed the other menu by staff as if to say ‘Duh, you’re looking at the wrong one, idiots.’ Why have two menus then?!
They just left us on a bench in the middle of the walkway so you feel like a total inconvenience to them, blocking their path as you wait for food. We were pretty relieved to leave in the end.
We actually even walked out with the glass of drink by accident and no one came after us either, which shows all you need to know about the lack of attention we got from staff.
I’d like to put it down to the New Year’s Day rush but it wasn’t that busy. A couple of families. That’s about it.
The rudeness didn’t just stop with us either. I overheard a woman on the till answering the question ‘Is there any garlic sauce for the salads?’ with ‘The names of them are on the handles. Just look.’ Wow. ATTITUDE much.
If there are no other options, sure, Pizza Hut is good for the greasy hangover cure you so badly need. But if you want good service and a decent pizza with choice? Try somewhere else.

I think Pizza Hut is quite good, and after dingying it (scottish word for leaving) for years have taken to it again all off a sudden… maybe i’m pregnant?! JOKE, i’m definitely not hahahaa. anyway, come here between 3−5pm weekdays and you get a pizza, garlic bread and unlimited coke for £6! fXXXXXing great deal!

After doing some late night shopping, we decided to stop here for a pizza using my student discount. As soon as you walk in you have two seating areas — one on the level your at and one up a few stairs. We were lead to the one up the stairs where everyone was seated even though the bottom area was empty. We ordered pizza and the server gave us our salad bowls. Even though we were there at 8ish, I would still expect the salad to be full and looking good. It was not! All stuff mixed together and not clean at all. When our pizza arrived they had cooked us a totally different pizza to what we had asked. We then had to wait while they cooked it again! When it arrived it was dry with hardly any cheese. We ate some, left the rest. Overall, I would not eat here again.

The Pizza Hut in Bexleyheath is usually busy and as a result the food is usually hot and fresh (this is particularly important if you are having the all you can eat option at lunchtime).
The staff are polite and attentive, even though they are rushed off their feet and the place is always clean.
