‘Roberts and Speight’ is a delicatessen-​cum-​wine shop/​off licence. It must be said straight off that this is not a cheap shop. The emphasis is on high quality and you will find things here that you will not find elsewhere in this region.
The wine selection is excellent. It’s not comprehensive but the stock is thoughtfully chosen and is particularly recommended if you are looking for something out of the ordinary and a cut above the usual supermarket fare. There are also some speciality beers and a good range of spirits, including some less well-​known single malt whiskies.
The food is very good and covers a wide range of cheeses, meats, condiments, preserves and other speciality foods. I can recommend the Craster kippers and the haggis is very good also.
The service is excellent, being friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
