Located next to the ‘big fish’ statue is the ‘world’s only titanic boat tours’ – I’m surprised there are not more because it was really nice to see the city from the water and learn more about the Titanic without having to pay lots to go into the new visitors centre. You see a lot of different aspects of he way ships were built, as well as some recent additions to the habour – like the Union Moon which was recently in an accident. The guide really knows what hes talking about as well. The boat is called the Joyce Too if you get lost looking for it!

As part of an end of year bash, our choir recently took themselves to the waters of Belfast Lough, and went on a Titanic Boat Tour… was it going to end in disaster? Well, there were a few close calls with some inebriated people standing too close to the edge of the ship, but thankfully, we all came back intact and ready to eat our dinner. This boat tour is well worth the money, and really enjoyable. You can pay £10 per adult or £30 for a family ticket, which I would say would be good value for your money if you are a family of tourists wanting to learn about the history of shipping in Belfast and the Titanic in particular. It does give you some good views of Belfast Lough also, and of course, would be most enjoyable in good, sunny weather. The tours last around an hour and a half, and are informative and enjoyable. I would recommend the experience for tourist and residents of Belfast too — it doesn’t hurt to know the history of your own city!
