This place looks like it’s been caught in a time warp, its amazing. Walking through its doors is like travelling back through time. I’m not sure why anyone would like to travel back in time to a hardware shop but there ya go. It stocks all the dedicated D.I.Yer would need to help them in their quest to ruin their living room by trying to mount their own shelves or flat screen tv. The staff know everything their is to know about the contents of the shop and will help you no end, if it’s required.

This is a great little pokey shop on the Lisburn road. With so many new outlets on the Lisburn road catering for everything from Estate Agents to interior design, its nice to see an old well maintained premises. But lets be honest, for most of us hardware is hardware and I for one like the thought that I can buy my garden spade form a place my grandfather bought his garden spade from. The guys that work look like they have fun, they stock just about anything that a DIY quiz would mention but don’t plan any of your weekly hammer purchasing trips on a Wednesday. As they will be having a wee afternoon off!!! Visiting Mr Guinness i gather

A shop of character that has been around since the 1920s, with old clay floor tiles and an interior that hasn’t changed very much over the years that answers numerous hardware requirements as well as having a range of kitchen equipment and various other household items including enamel teapots and cookware. It’s the sort of place where just have to ask and someone will know exactly what you need and where to find it. As I looked around there seemed to be a constant stream of customers, clearly a hallmark of a good local shop.

Yes, it’s a hardware shop. I don’t know what it is, but there is something inside me that really likes trawling through little old fashioned hardware shops, because there is always a bargain to be had, or some smart little gadget or item that will help you around the house — because, let’s be fair — I don’t get much help from other areas! It’s been on the Lisburn Road since 1929 and is a family run business, and I do find this kind of charming, in a funny way. You can get all the usual stuff here, ironing boards, cleaning items and sprays, fly killer, clothes pegs, and all the general hardware paraphernalia that you would expect to find. It’s small inside, but crammed with all of this stuff — so you’re bound to get what you need, and even some stuff you don’t!
