Chef used to work for world famous restaurant Taj in Mumbai, India. He used his knowledge to come to the UK and open the spectacular Mumbai 27 in Belfast’s historic cathedral quarter. With strict discipline about his cooking, everything is made fresh and to order.

Previously trained as a chef in world famous Taj restaurant in Mumbai, India. Came to UK over 10 years ago, and worked his way up to opening his own restaurant in Belfast’s historic Cathedral Quarter.

I absolutely loved this place. The staff was very attentive and welcoming when we walked in. I loved the tapestry they have hanging from the ceiling and the amber lighting. Our waiter was very patient and knowledgeable about the menu. And he answered all of our questions. He was extremely helpful and offered suggestions. When the food came it was delicious. We had the lamb chop appetizer, which was seasoned perfectly. I had the butter chicken… The best butter chicken I have had in literally years. I also had the garlic naan and seasoned rice. It was delicious! The prawns were very good as well! I look forward to coming back here again.

Great Indian restaurant which is deceivingly bigger on the inside — beautiful booths and cordoned off dining for the more intimate meal.
I dined here with 4 friends and found the service exemplary, quick and efficient without rushing you out. The food was extremely tasty, I ordered the onion baghi for starters followed by the chicken biryani with am garlic naan and I have to say to was the tastiest meal I have had in a while.
Will definitely be having a repeat visit as there are a few other options on the menu I need to try and for 5 people having a two course meal and 3 bottles of wine £30 per head including tip is not to be sniffed at.

Stopped in for dinner on short notice, luckily they were able to squeeze us in. Seems as though booking is a good idea as it was really busy.
Greeted by a local girl in a sari was a nice touch.
The service was rushed. Felt like they were trying to get us in and out to free up the table again.
The staff were overly attentive.
The food was good though, if limited in choice.

Have visited Mumbai 27 only once for lunch and really enjoyed it. It’s a nice restaurant décor wise with some interesting features such as fabric hanging from ceiling to floor to divide tables and offer diners some privacy. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Myself and a friend just happened across Mumbai 27 whilst wandering around the Cathedral Quarter on a lazy mid week shopping day in town. We treated ourselves to a delicious 3 course lunch, starting with kulli pitta, a Mumbai street food filled with spiced potatoes. Mains were a Biryani and Jal Frezi and the accompanying chilli and coriander nan bread was exceptionally good. For dessert we shared an Indian donut dish which was devine and made a delightfully different from the norm dessert. Lovely restaurant to which I can’t wait to return, I imagine it would be great for an evening meal out…

Nothing but good words to say for This place. Really good food tailored to your liking of hotness and taste. Friendly staff who really look after you and have a bit of craic with you. The lunch menu is quite minimal but will have something for everyone’s taste. Well priced too. Starters at around £3 and mains at about £6. Great value for how delicious it is.

Had a lovely meal, the starters were just enough and tasty. We had the venison and potato pockets. Mains were the king prawn in shells but the shells just fall off, very good and meaty. Chicken on the bone was moist and filling. Nice Australian Shiraz to wash it down. Staff were very attentive and friendly. All in all a good evening.

If you enjoy a curry and a few drinks like myself, you’d do well at Mumbai 27.
I’ve been with friends for birthdays and work for socials, and even date nights with my other half, and have never been disappointed. The lamb shank is worth the visit alone.
Not your traditional Indian with a bright modern interior, and just on the edge of the Cathedral with loads of bars to visit after, it is perfect for a fun night out. Their menu has the usual jalfrezi type things, but check out the bespoke menu too. The flavours are fresh and nothing tastes like it has just come from a vat of processed sauce. The portions are reasonable so enough to share between two if you add on some rice and breads.
The waiting staff deserve a mention too, who were incredibly lovely despite the wine consumed and the indecisiveness of my co-​diners!
